Tinsel town was busy buzzing with the reports that moviemaker Thiagarajan bagged the remake rights of Bollywood's blockbuster hit "Queen" that stars Kangana Ranaut in a title role. It is also heard that actress Tamannaah Bhatia is on board for the Tamil version.
But, recently, several reports surfaced saying that the project has been shelved. Refuting all such reports, Thiagarajan told DC, "Irrespective of whether Tamannaah is doing the lead or not, the project will go on floors in May. We haven’t paid her any advance till now. She seemed very interested — but I met her father and manager once and I could not afford the remuneration they demanded. I had a different budget for it. Things did not work out with her! But that doesn’t mean I am shelving the project."
He added, "Considering the scale of the movie, which has to be done in four languages, we are in the process of freezing directors for the other languages. We have completed the script work of the remake. Revathy and Suhasini are working in Tamil version."
