The controversy surrounding Sanjay Leela Bhansali's is only getting worse day by day. The silent protests have turned violent and the Karni Sena in Kota has vandalized the cinema theaters. Reacting to the controversy, actress Deepika Padukone made some sensational comments saying India is regressing instead of progressing. "It's appalling, it's absolutely appalling. What have we gotten ourselves into? And where have we reached as a nation? We have regressed."
Reacting to Deepika's comments, the senior politician Subramanium Swamy responded with a harsh tweet. "Cine actress Deepika Padukone giving us lectures on regression!! Nation can progress only when it is regression from her perspective", he tweeted.
Sharing his views on the 'Padmavati' row and Deepika's comments, he spoke to media and said, "If one movie is not shown the country is regressed, this shows she is illiterate. She should go back to the classrooms and learn something. Just doing cinema and having an expression of the nation's progress that is terrible."
He added,"That is why I tweeted that whenever we progress, it is so only if Deepika Padukone regards it as regression. And somebody has pointed it out on Twitter that she was born in Copenhagen, we don't even know if she's a citizen of India."
He further added, "Also she is acting in a movie where she's paid handsomely. And now to blame the whole country because her film is not being shown, she should be condemned by everyone in the country."
Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, 'Padmavati' is set for a grand release on 1st December 2017.
