At least 23 people were killed and 60 others were injured on Tuesday when a suicide bomber set off a truck bomb. The attack took place near a crowded market place in the Northern Iraqi town of Tuz Khurmatu.
Most of the casualties were civilians and the death toll was expected to rise as many of the injured were in critical condition. So far, no group has claimed the attack.
An interior ministry said that a violent explosion took place near a vegetable market in the town but did not provide casualty figures.
