The United States said that 26/11 mastermind Hafiz Saeed must be arrested and charged by Pakistan for his crimes. Also, India has said that his being freed proves that Pakistan is not serious about punishing terrorists.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said, “India, as indeed the entire international community, is outraged that a self-confessed and UN proscribed terrorist is being allowed to walk free and continue with his evil agenda.”
Saeed’s house arrest, which started in January, was ended this week by a court. Also, after being released he delivered an incendiary speech in Lahore about India. He has denied involvement in 2008 attack that claimed the lives of 166 people. Nearly 10 Pakistani terrorists attacked Mumbai landmarks during the attack.
