The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has raised objections to the upcoming Bollywood film ‘Thackeray’, a biopic on the life of Bal Thackeray, the founder of Shiv Sena.

Shiv Sena Parliamentarian and producer of the film Sanjay Raut confirmed the news and said, “Yes, they have raised objections on some dialogues and scenes, four dialogues and two scenes to be precise. We are legally dealing the matter with CBFC and we hope the matter will be sorted out soon.”

Directed by Abhijit Panse, Nawazuddin Siddiqui is essaying the role of Bal Thackeray in the film, which also features Amrita Rao as Meena Tai Thackeray.

‘Thackeray’ is slated to release on January 23, 2019, which is also the birth anniversary of the late Shiv Sena founder.
