Hyderabad youngster arrested for Cyberstalking

A 21-year-old BTech student Vangari Bhanuprakash has been arrested on the charges of cyberstalking. Getting into the details, Bhanuprakash had a health problem this April and he fell unconscious in the classroom. His friends tried to give him the first aid which created a bit of nuisance. In the meantime, the college Assistant professor asked the students to vacate the place as they would provide the treatment. In the process, a heated argument arose between the professor and Bhanuprakash.

As a result, Bhanuprakash had decided to take vengeance on the professor and had stolen Facebook profile pictures of a woman and posted the same in classifieds website Locanto along with objectionable and lewd comments, inviting men for sex and with rates given for different services including chatting and photographs. He also gave her phone number, following which she began getting lewd phone calls and WhatsApp messages.
Following the victim’s complaint, the police registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the IT Act. Bhanuprakash was arrested from Badangpet and produced before the court, after which he was remanded in judicial custody.
