It seems the dreams of BJP to form the government in Karnataka is on the verge of getting shattered. In one of the unexpected moves, JD(S) leader and former Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy has accepted the Congress’ support. He also wrote to Governor of Karnataka seeking an appointment to form a government in the state.
In the letter Kumaraswamy has written:
“This is to submit to your good self that I have accepted the support extended by the Indian National Congress (I) party for forming the Government. In this regard, I seek your appointment today evening between 5:30 pm and 6:00 pm.”
His letter comes immediately after Congress offered its support to the JD(S) to form a government in Karnataka and that the JD(S) had accepted. A Congress representation had then attempted to meet the Governor but the Governor rejected the meeting request as the final results in the election aren’t yet out.
As per the latest leads/wins, the BJP has 104 seats, the Congress has 78 and the JD(S) has 37, with others holding three.
