It’s been a year since Priya Prakash Varrier has become an overnight sensation with just a wink from a song of her movie ‘Oru Adar Love’. She was flooded with lucrative offers even before her debut movie got released. Now, after a long delay, Priya Prakash Varrier’s ‘Oru Adar Love’ (dubbed in Telugu as ‘Lover’s Day’) had finally hit the screens today. Let’s see whether the movie can live up to the hype or not.

Story:

The whole movie revolves in Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, where Priya (Priya Carrier) and Roshan (Roshan Mohammed) join as plus one students.

The movie’s story is no different and it’s been shown a couple of times earlier. The main plot is spread over 2 years and shows the love, friendship, jealousy among teenage school-goers. The movie is mainly a love triangle between Priya, Roshan, and Gatha John (Noorin Shereef) and how all this showcased is the rest of the story.

Plus Points:

Though Priya Prakash Varrier has grabbed all the limelight before the release, it’s Noorin Shereef, the curly haired girl who steals the show. She breathes energy into the otherwise mundane story with her acting and beautiful looks.

Priya Prakash Varrier gives a decent performance, but, it’s Roshan who dominates Priya. He’s a good find and seems a promising actor in the future.

Minus Points:

The biggest drawback of the movie is the lack of a strong story.

The fans who expect to see Priya Prakash’s magic will surely be disappointed. None of her scenes with Roshan, except for the breakup scene in the second half are impressive.

Verdict:

On the whole, ‘Lover’s Day’ fails to entice the audience with its dull screenplay and an uninteresting story.
