Maoists killed Sarveswara Rao for that reason

The horrible murder of TDP MLA Kidari Sarveswara Rao and former MLA Siveru Soma in Aruku Valley is sending shivers to other political leaders. The gruesome murder looks like that Maoists are trying to prove their existence and their ability to increase their activities in agency areas.

However, as per the reports, it’s the MLA’s greed that took his life. Though the Maoists have pasted wall posters in tribal areas saying that they will target the MLA because of his continued support to the bauxite mining in tribal till tracts, Sarveswara Rao didn’t pay any heed.
The Maoists have long been opposing keeping in view the largest livelihood interests of the tribal populations there. The bauxite mining issue has long been a matter of great concern for Maoists as it would not only disturb tribal villages, their livelihoods but also become a hurdle for the Maoist operations in the Araku jungles and hills.

They have earlier killed political leaders Venkatraju, Samidi Ravishankar, Korra Chittibabu, U Somalingam, and S. Somalingam who supported the mining. Now, after a brief gap, they killed Kidari Sarveswara Rao for the same reason.
Sarveswara Rao, who won from YSRCP, had shifted to TDP upon agreement that he would be given the license to carry out the mining. On the other hand, the government has been encouraging mining keeping in view for revenue.
Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan also said that he came across the news of illegal bauxite mining in that area, but the TDP is claiming that the mining was stopped long back. But, the people are paying their last respects to Sarveswara Rao saying it’s the greed that took his life.
