“Taxiwaala” Review

After scoring a blockbuster with “Geetha Govindam” and a dud with “NOTA”, actor Vijay Deverakonda is back in the spotlight with his next film “Taxiwaala”. Tipped to be a supernatural thriller, the film opened to packed houses today with high expectations.

Cast – Vijay Deverakonda and Priyanka Jawalkar
Director – Rahul Sankrityan
Production Companies – Geetha Arts and UV Creations
Music Director – Jakes Bejoy

The story begins with Shiva (Vijay Deverakonda) who turns cab driver after exploring few job opportunities. He buys a vintage car and then starts experiencing few spooky things. With this, he and his friends decide to get through the details with the help of the car’s former owner. That’s when they come across the concept called Astral Projection. The rest revolves around the concept.

As expected Vijay Deverakonda delivered an incredible performance with care and ease. On the other hand, actress Priyanka Jawalkar made her debut with “Taxiwaala” in the Telugu film industry and scored good marks.

Actress Malavika Nair’s role is small but is important. She also impressed one and all. Other actors – Uttej, Raviprakash, Ravi Varma, Kalyani, Yamuna played well.

Music scored by Jakes Bejoy deserves a mention as it is enjoyable. Cinematography and production values are also too good.

Final verdict:
This time, Vijay Deverakonda tried his best with an experimental subject of “Taxiwaala”. In fact it is a perfect blend of horror and comedy. It is a good drama with engaging narration and impressive shots.
