The information watchdog has been criticized for ‘infantilising’ the online users, in a draconian new code designed to make the internet safer for children.

With these new rules, the users will be forced for the age checks everything they log in and would be treated like kids. The rules are very strict and critics fear people could end up being forced to demonstrate their age for virtually every website they visit or have the services that they can access limited as if they are under 18.

Critics also opined that these new rules would surely damage the online advertising business, threatening the provision of free web services such as online news websites and chat forums including Mumsnet and TripAdvisor.
